From First Tour to First Client: What Enrolling at AINM Looks Like
Starting beauty school can feel like a big leap, but the path to getting there is more approachable than most people expect. At Aveda Institute New Mexico, enrollment follows a clear set of steps designed to answer your questions and set you up for success. Here is what the journey looks like, from your very first visit to the day you take your first guest.
- Enrollment begins with a campus tour and a conversation about your goals
- A few clear steps, including the FAFSA, move you from applicant to enrolled student
- Orientation and the salon floor are where your new career really begins
It Starts With a Tour
Every journey begins with a Career Planning Session, a visit where you walk through the training facility, watch student artists at work, and sit down with an admissions advisor. This is your chance to ask questions, learn about Aveda’s holistic approach, and picture yourself in the program. There is no pressure, just the information you need to decide whether AINM is the right fit.
From Application to Enrollment
Once you are ready, the steps are straightforward. You submit your application along with proof of age, a high school diploma or GED, and a short letter of intent. You complete the FAFSA so the financial aid team can help you understand the support you may qualify for. Then you meet with an admissions representative to finalize your spot, sign your enrollment agreement, and complete your financial aid plan. The team guides you through each piece, so nothing catches you by surprise.
Orientation and the Salon Floor
Your first day is orientation, where you meet your classmates, instructors, and the culture that makes the institute feel like home. From there, training moves from the classroom to the salon floor, where you begin practicing on real guests under the guidance of licensed educators. That is the moment technique becomes craft, and it is where your new career truly begins.
Your first step is the easiest one to take. Call 505.294.5333 or visit avedanm.com to schedule your tour, and the admissions team will walk you through everything from there.
