Treat Mom to the Aveda Experience

Mother's Day Facial

A Mother’s Day Ritual

The art and science of pure flower and plant essences. AVEDA aromas begin your sensory journey.

Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 10.

Aveda Institute New Mexico is a beauty school in West Downtown Albuquerque, and our salon services are open to the public Monday through Saturday. Every appointment is performed by a student artist under the guidance of a licensed educator. We use Aveda’s sustainably sourced, plant-powered products throughout, the same lines you would find in any premium Aveda salon. When you choose our salon, you are not just receiving a service. You are playing a part in a student’s education, and supporting the next generation of beauty professionals.

The Aveda Sensory Journey

Every Aveda service begins the same way, and it begins with her.

Before any cutting, coloring, or treatment starts, the student artist offers Mom a sensory ritual. The ritual continues with a hand massage, performed with Aveda Hand Relief Cream, worked into her hands and forearms by someone whose only job in that moment is her. It is short, and it is unhurried. Most clients tell us afterward that the hand massage is the moment they remember best.

Only then does Mom’s service begin. The cut. The color. The Tulasara facial. The manicure. Whatever she came in for, the ritual is what makes the experience hers.

What Else Makes the Experience

Three things, beyond the Sensory Journey, define an Aveda visit.

  • Plant-powered products throughout. Aveda has been a force of nature since 1978, founded on the art and science of pure flower and plant essences. Our products are vegan, Leaping Bunny approved, and made by a Certified B Corporation. Mom will smell, feel, and (if she takes some home) live with the difference.
  • Educator guidance. Every service on our floor is supervised by a licensed educator. The student artist performs the work; the educator ensures the work is excellent. Mom gets two perspectives, four trained eyes, and a service performed with intention from start to finish.
  • Aveda quality, accessible pricing. Our service menu uses the full Aveda system, and our student-salon pricing makes it approachable. A facial is sixty minutes for forty-five dollars. A signature manicure is fifteen. A blow dry with thermal styling is twenty. The experience is not stripped down. It is shared with someone who is learning, and her appointment is part of how that learning happens.

A Mother’s Day Gift Card

Let mom experience her gift with no rush with a gift card. Here are a few suggestions for Mom from our menu.

  • Facial, sixty minutes, $45. Customized aromas, products, and techniques to bring her skin toward balance. If she has earned a deeper reset, the ninety-minute version is $60.
  • Color Retouch with Balance, $55. An all-over color refresh, plus a finish.
  • Botanical Repair Conditioning Treatment, $30. For Mom whose hair has earned a recovery year. Add it to any service for $15.
  • Signature Manicure, $15. Add a gel polish for $12 more.
  • Special Occasion Styling, $25. For an after-brunch photograph she will keep.
  • Lash Lift and Tint, $30 each. Or both, with brow lamination, in our Eye Love It set, $80.

If you are not certain what Mom would choose, gift cards are available in any amount, and our staff can build her a custom Aveda gift bundle in a few minutes. Botanical Repair shampoo and conditioner. Tulasara cleansing oil and facial crème. Hand Relief, so she can carry a piece of the Sensory Journey home with her.

How to Book

Two ways.

  • Book online at avedanm.com/services/, where the full menu is available and our scheduling tool will show you what is open this weekend.
  • Or call us at 505.294.5333.

We are at 1816 Central Avenue SW, in West Downtown, just off Route 66. Parking is free. The neighborhood is one of the most beautiful in Albuquerque, and the walk from the door of the campus to the chair is short.

If Mom has never been to our salon, tell her about the Sensory Journey. Tell her she gets to choose her own aroma. Tell her about the hand massage. The cut, the color, and the facial will speak for themselves. The ritual is the gift.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Aveda Institute New Mexico. We will be here, doing what we love, and we would be glad to see her.
